V Festival 2011: The DiS Review
Mention the words V Festival on the forum boards of DiS and you're likely to get a barbaric savaging of verbal abuse from all and sundry. If you're lucky that is.»
Leeds Festival 2011 - Drowned In Sound's Sunday Blog

With Drowned In Sound's esteemed editor taking a break from Reading this year, he left it to four of his Northern-based chaps to take on the Leeds leg of the weekender. Full review will follow in the week, but here Simon Jay Catling, Dom Gourlay and Daniel O'Dell run the rule over the first day's highlights at Bramham Park.»
La Route Du Rock 2011, Saint-Malo - The DiS Review
DiS’s journey to La Route Du Rock 2011 begins aboard a ferry out of Portsmouth, where it’s roughly 2am, and I’m trying my absolute best to grab a precious ounce of sleep. Unfortunately, what with the fellow sat opposite me working overtime to see if he can successfully self-inflict a brain hemorrhage by way of snoring alone, and my own brain working overtime to try and discover what sort of karmic retribution had been dealt unto me in my having to witness an hour of seizure inducing ferry cabaret, I’m dragging my feet across St. Malo port the following morning having had next to no shut-eye.»

Field Day 2011: the DiS review
Since its inception in 2007, the Field Day festival has been beset by hitches. Consecutive years have been marred by problems with inaudible sound, extraordinary toilet queues, comic band cancellations (Dan Deacon losing his passport anyone?) combining with moronic last minute mass schedule alterations, or simply by being idiotically put on at the height of the English summer when the organisers should know it will piss it down. What promoters Eat Your Own Ears have got consistently right is the bill, with 2011 no exception.»
