Plenty of goodness to choose from this week, we've had a whole raft of album reviews, mostly well received records plus the Brand Neu! compilation. Phoenix and Future Of The Left both scored 9s, as did Camera Obscura. Funny what a little sunshine does to people's moods, eh? Phoenix - 'Love Like A Sunset Pt. I'

A superb track from a superb record. A slow but steady trickle of small electronic movements tip-toes its way to become Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix's finest moment. Pure bliss, pure glee.

Gang Gang Dance - 'First Communion'

This track made singles reviewer Wendy Roby change her mind about GGD. She said "this spirals off beautifully, recalling the drums and angular jangle of !!! with The Slits’ yelps slapped on the top." Sounds good.

Arab Strap - 'Kate Moss'

From the thread 'Would some kind Spotify using Arab-strap fan...'. Here we honour the boards with a song on the playlist.

Sonic Youth - 'Screaming Skull'

Any song that mentions Pat Smear is going to be a winner, as are most songs on Experimental Jet Set. Read our review of the giants of noise's latest record here.

Muse - 'Muscle Museum'

Epic three-piece Muse recently announced the name of their new album as The Resistance, and followed that up with the announcement of a tour. Excellent early Muse.

Au Revoir Simone - 'Knight Of Wands'

This is the sort of song which'll see you rocking back and forth, weeping into your bowl of porridge upon the realisation that you still need to pay those bills. Read the review of Still Night, Still Light here.

Future Of The Left - 'Fuck The Countryside Alliance' (Live)

This week we reviewed both their new album and their live show at ULU. Both went down pretty well, as should this one, if you agree with the sentiment. If you are a member of the CA, then you probably won't.

Black Lips - 'Big Black Baby Jesus Of Today'

DiS went to Primavera over the weekend. It was fun. Look at Toby Price's excellent Primavera snaps here. In picture number six, the guy from Black Lips is holding his penis whilst crowd surfing. High-fi...wait, no.

Wavves - 'How Are You'

Wavves: The Saga. Performed at Primavera. Had a bit of an episode during set. Apologised for it. Got album reviewed. Was subject of thought-provoking DiScussion. Made it onto this playlist.

Sad Day For Puppets - 'Blue Skies'

Just one of our DiScoveries this week, along with The Northwestern and Oskar. A Swedish indie-pop band, who'd have thought?!

Los Campesinos! - 'You'll Need Those Fingers For Crossing'

Co-singer and keyboardist Aleks left the band this week to continue her studies. Another traditionally titled, traditionally sounding Los Campesinos! song for y'all here.

Camera Obscura - 'French Navy'

This one is up there with Nirvana vs. Killing Joke in song soundalikes. Madness. Literally. What do you think? Check it out for yourself, and read the review of My Maudlin Career.

Kasabian - 'Fire'

Wendy Roby thought quite well of this Kasabian track. She did wonder, however, why they ally themselves with Oasis (below). It has a typically exhilarating chorus.

Oasis - 'Noel's Track'

Classic interview from way back in 1994 between Noel, Liam and a journalist. Yeah, it's mainly them shouting and swearing at each other but it is quite LOLsome. Includes the quote "You can stick your thousand pounds right up yer arse 'till it comes out your fuckin' big toe." What _is_ rock 'n' roll, anyway? Speech Debelle - 'Speech Therapy'

A healthy slice of hip-hop mixed with emotional outpouring from Speech Debelle. Read our interview with the 26-year-old South Londoner here.

DJ Shadow ft. Mos Def - 'Six Days'

Def announced new album details, including juicy bits like stuff what is produced by Madlib. Here he raps for a remix of DJ Shadow's 'Six Days', remarking about newspapers' 'ugly' print.

Apocalyptica - 'Master Of Puppets'

We marked Napster's 10th birthday with this piece. Ironically enough, there wasn't much Metallica on Spotify but this Apocalyptica string-fest is almost as good.

worriedaboutsatan - 'The Butterfly Effect'

Leeds's electronica-cum-post-rock duo released Arrivals recently. Perfect night-time listening. 'The Butterfly Effect' rather aptly seems to soundtrack the movements of a giant mechanical butterfly through the medium of supersonic clicks and blips.

Limp Bizkit - 'Show Me What You Got'

From the thread 'Best line in a Nu-Metal song''. The line from this song is "I spat on a boy named Tina from Pasadena". Anyone miss the year 2000? No, me either.
