It's been long-awaited but Nu-Rave prodigies Klaxons have confirmed the name of their second record, which has been quitr SOME years in the making. It's called Surfing The Void. Anticlimax? Not quite. But wait 'til you hear the music, you know?
On the posting of a certain TwitPic we speculated on what some of the songs would be called. A large percentage of them were nowt short of utterly ridiculous. It appears that few, if any, of them have made it onto the final cut as this is the tracklisting for the record:
- Echoes
- Same Space
- Surfing The Void
- Valley Of The Calm Trees
- Venusia
- Extra Astronomical
- Twin Flames
- Flashover
- Future Memories
- Cypher Speed
'Marble Fields And The Hydrolight Head Of Delusion' and 'The Parhelion' were the ones we really wanted to make it. Maybe they've been renamed, maybe they've been scrapped altogether. Anyway, so far the only snippet that's been released from the new record has been 'Flashover', which can be downloaded from here.
ORRR if you want to see the new tracks in the flesh, then head to one of these places on these dates:
15/6 - Paris, Nouveau Casino
13/7 - Glasgow, King Tut's Wah Wah Hut
14/7 - Manchester, The Ruby Lounge
27/7 - London, Village Underground
Surfing The Void is released on August 23 and is preced by a single, 'Echoes', released a week earlier.
