If I had a tenner for every-time I'd written "Welsh seven-piece" then I'd have substantially more money than I have now. Anyway, there's more news on the horizon for the rather brilliant and ever-evolving septet that we call Los Campesinos!, this time in unveiling a new member and the first single from their forthcoming album.
You may have distant memories of Aleks leaving the band a couple of months ago, finishing off with the recording of the new album and a US Tour. Well, they're pretty much done now, and those over at LC! HQ decided it was time to reveal their replacement.
Here's a photo with them at a stadium. No prize, apart from smugness, for guessing which stadium it is.
A blog post read:
"It is our utmost pleasure to officially announce on this beautiful Monday, the joining of Kim Campesinos! as our new vocalist and keyboard player (and a whole lot more). As I’m sure most of you are aware, Kim joins the band following Aleks’ departure to return to her studies. In Kim we have a more than worthy successor. We are friends from way, way back, and I hope you’ll make her feel very welcome."
Brilliant stuff. It's probably more of a Ronaldo-Beckham style signing than a...erm, Valencia-Ronaldo one. Maybe, who knows? The newly-dubbed Kim Campesinos! is in fact lead-singer Gareth's younger sister, don't you know?
Here's a photo of their wonderful new line-up, Kim front-left, in a very snazzy cardigan indeed.
And here's a highly amusing video - they really went to town on this one, didn't they?

In addition to all this talk of addition, they've announced which single will be the first from their new album. It will be called 'These Are Listed Buildings' and will be available to buy from their October tour dates, and in a limited amount in stores after the tour finishes. Artwork below:
They also released a free download and video for a new song (which is maybe on the album, maybe not - we're not sure...) entitled 'The Sea Is A Good Place To Think Of The Future'. Click here for that.
