Pixies Confirm European Tour

After a lengthy 'will they or won't they' debate, the Pixies have confirmed that they are planning a full US and European tour for later this year.
The band are already confirmed to appear at this year's Coachella festival in California. The tour will be their first since 1993.
A spokesman for the band remarked that details are yet to be finalised, but told reporters: "For a long time, it was far from certain that this would actually happen. However, you may be interested to learn that, at last, the reunion has been confirmed. Their booking agents have been confirming shows with promoters over the last few days."
The Pixies are expected to play a series of warm up shows prior to Coachella, probably in Canada. Other festival appearances have been rumoured, including Glastonbury and T in the Park, as well as a possible support slot on the Red Hot Chili Peppers' European tour this summer.

doesn't anyone spot the distinct irony here? the pixies -brilliant obscene fetishists and peverse freaks par excelence (examples: "you're so pretty when you're unfaithful to me", "tried to molest me in the parking lot, yup yup yup" and the whole of 'gigantic') supporting the chilis - abunch of over-hyped frat boys, who got big 'cos the middle america (and their british counterparts) thought they invented funk-rock? they are indeed the sons of incestuous union........

Hang on. I remember the Chilli Peppers recording at least one classic record and a couple of very good ones not so long ago. They may be past their prime, but musically they're still very good.
Are they about the right size for a bit of backlash?

i dont think pixies will be playing with the chilis, who are very shit and lets not go on about musicianship or we may aswell dedicate the site to eric clapton, they're twat and that's that. but anyway, i have it on fairly good authority that the pix will be doing a euro mega tour with another band of equal quality and larger popularity.

RHCP should be supporting Pixies, not the other way round. Just the first 7 songs on Doolittle are as good as anything that RHCP hav ever done.

Mixed feelings about the band. When I first stumbled across them in early 90's, I thought they were a bunch of Californian sex offenders riping off Sly Stone & Hendrix. Then they managed to surprise me with some sweet songs and even occasional bouts of orginiality.
However, I've yet to see them come across well when interviewed.
Case For:-

Pixies will play in Barcelona on 28th May, as part of the Primavera Sound Festival. Well worth a short trip, I think.
