Flaming Lips make film about "Christmas on Mars".

The Flaming Lips are working on a film, described as a "futuristic fairytale" by the band's frontman Wayne Coyne.

Coyne looks like he has suspended work on the band's new LP to complete preparations for the film, which is, according to the band's website, "about the first Christmas on Mars".

The film's central character will be played by Steven Drozd, and Wayne himself will appear as "a Martian (or some kind of alien anyway)."
