Moby: Direct My Next Video Ya Slaaags!
sean by Sean Adams October 21st, 2002
Mister Boldo MOBY (slang for mobile phone, innit) is inviting the talented yoof out there (that means you!) to direct his next vid...

Ok, so it's kinda a competition, kinda a way to save money on a big budget director, kinda a way for Mute to find some ace new directors, kinda a PR stunt for Moby.. but whatever, it's a good opportunity put all those drunken "if I could make a video" talks into lights, camera, action...

The Press Release reads:

"Budding directors, regardless of experience, are invited to send a video treatment for any track on Moby's new album "18". Anyone can enter and submissions will be considered on the merits of imagination and conception, not on previous achievement.

Moby will personally select his favourite idea from the ten most interesting treatments. The winning entrant will then be given a £5,000 budget to create a full-length promo video which may be used for a future release."

Got that? Good. Send your entry (either written or as a storyboard) to info@d-e-f.com with VIDEO COMP in the subject. Also include a very short bio about yourself in no more than 50 words. Whatever you send must be under 2mb in size and reach the above address by November 30th.

And if this is your dream, go out there and do it. One day you'll wake and wish you did. I love that scene in Fight Club!
