Bedroom Community to release Christmas compilation
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater November 25th, 2010

There can be fewer greater record labels than the Icelandic-based Bedroom Community, run and founded by man of many talents Valgeir Sigurðsson, and including such prominent and innovative musicians and composers as Ben Frost, Sam Amidon, Nico Muhly and Daníel Bjarnason. People do moan about Christmas being thrust upon us early, but who cares all that much? Not us, for Valgeir and co. have announced the release of a Christmas compilation record.

It's called Bedroom Community: Yule and is free to download with every purchase made through Bedroom Community's website between now and December 31. Lovely stuff. It's made up of an hour of remixes, exclusive tracks and various unreleased tracks.

The tracklist is as follows:

  1. The Amidons - It's Good To Be Kind—mangled by Nico Muhly
  2. Nico Muhly - The Only Tune—Son Lux Remix
  3. Ben Frost - The Gravity of Numbers
  4. Valgeir Sigurðsson - Focal Point—Kippi Kanínus Remix
  5. Sam Amidon - Kedron (acoustic)
  6. Puzzle Muteson - Parachute
  7. Daníel Bjarnason - Night Music
  8. Valgeir Sigurðsson - Vetur
  9. Nico Muhly - Wonders—MaJiKer Remix
  10. Valgeir Sigurðsson - Dark Christmas
  11. Daníel Bjarnason - Stars
  12. Ben Frost - There are no others, There is only us
  13. Nico Muhly - Bells For Zach
  14. Valgeir Sigurðsson - Air

There's also a "create your own CD kit", which means you can make your own copies of the record to hand out. At Christmas, obviously!
