A slight and very brief update from Welsh wizards Future Of The Left, as the band have done a few noteworthy things. Ish. The first is that they've recruited a new bassist in Steve Hodson (of Oceansize and Kong) who has replaced Kelson Matthias on four-string duties for their forthcoming tour. Which is the next point. They've just confirmed a few dates in Europe, alongside the previously announced UK dates, kicking off next Wednesday in Birmingham.
Here they are:
June:
3 - Birmingham, Rainbow
4 - London, The Lexington
5 - Nottingham, 580s
8 - Nantes, Sputnik Bar
9 - Tours Aucard de Tours Festival
10 - Lyon, Le Clacson
11 - Milan, Magnolia
12 - Rome, Init
13 - Ravenna Hana-bi, Marina Di Ravenna
July:
8 - Pula, Croatia, Marelica Club, Art and Music Festival
16 - Cheltenham, 2000trees Festival
17 - Wrexham, Central Station
18 - Manchester, Moho Live
24 - Sheffield, Tramlines
25 - Oxfordshire, Truck Festival
The third, final and most important bit of news is that they've started work on their next full-length record, their third studio album in total and the follow-up to the absolutelyfuckingbrilliant Travels With Myself And Another, which we reviewed here. It has been recorded as a four piece and we are told some of the song titles. They include:
- 'Assisted Suicide Blues'
- 'Home Taping Is Killing Susan'
- 'The Goose That Roared'
- 'Destroywhitchurch.com'
'xciting!
