So, the Great Escape starts on Thursday and features several hundred bands to watch across the three days of festivities. Yesterday, we provided you with this Spotify playlist but obviously the brand new bands who've not released anything yet aren't up on Spotify, so instead, we bring you a mixtape, using Soundcloud.
I'd love to say we have listened to absolutely every single band on the bill but I'd be lying, we only managed about 60% before wishing someone would destroy MySpace. However, we spend our lives lost in music and the following playlist features acts we know are worth your time (many of whom you'll find playing the DiS stage) and a couple we've only just stumbled across that we really look forward to seeing for the first time.
Oh and Rolo Tomassi, who headline our stage at Revenge on Friday, have very kindly given us a track from their forthcoming album Cosmology - you heard it here first, etc...

Hi, Honey.
FOE & MASKS play here @ Great Escape on Thursday: http://hihoney.tumblr.com/
Bear Driver
Really ace Leeds band who mix psychedelia and folk. They're at Above Audio at half 8 on Thursday.
focus on what you love
not much point telling us what you don't like.
YA
I like Bear Driver. They're pretty damn good.
I quite like villagers, but fear it's going to turn into some sort of Paolo Nutini-esque thing all too soon..
Teeny JAG
Esben and the Witch are playing twice at TGE, albeit on the same (Satur)day (double bang fer yr buck), should anyone be interested. (They're not on any o' these lists.)
10 new acts?
I count 7, tops.
how can an act like rolo tomassi that had a (justified) ton of press for their early EPs and their 1st album be in a new acts list? surely there are acts that people haven't heard of that would benefit from the press?
ps: the bsm show looks worth a punt
but i'm working all weekend :/
Japandroids frikkin
....WAIL!
