Los Campesinos! have toured an awful, awful lot in the last few months. Recently they took in most of mainland Europe, apart from some of the more remote and strange parts, the sorts of places where living musical deities are local men with seven-fingers on each hand who, coincidentally, happen to be world-class at playing the accordion.
They went along with Scottish four-piece Copy Haho, who hail from Stonehaven, Scotland. I guess you could argue that Stonehaven is one of the aforementioned 'remote' places, though I suspect it's not that strange, certainly not if these four guys are its children. A video was filmed of some of the more - and less - engaging things that took place whilst on the road.
Though the early cuts last about three seconds each, it's worth investing the time to get to the finale, for sure, because that's where "eighth Campesino!" Sparky Deathcap tries to catch a fish with his bare hands. The whole thing is fourteen minutes long, so a mid-way interval may be in order. It includes some of these things listed below, though I've left some of the more depraved and debauched goings on out so as not to spoil the surprise...
- A Germanic sounding man who looks like Michael Portillo
- A picture of Richard F. Scott by Richard F. Scott
- Some German bier
- A tunnel in Paris
- Athleticum
- A recreation, or sorts, of Un Chien Andalou
- Drilling
- A tunnel in Paris
- Twin Peaks
- Some bizarre consequences of Cabin Fever
- An unexpected tagger-on
...and some other unexpected happenings. You'll have to see it for yersel'. Some of it will make you laugh. I promise?
