Excitin'! Just found this little teaser of the forthcoming Blur documentary.
Rumblings have been occurring for a while about a film documenting the rise of one of the most important band's in British music history. My Sunday morning stumble around the internet led me to Blur.co.uk where you can see this:
Out in January 2010? Excitin'!
Little else has been announced about the documentary but back in June a mole told The Sun newspaper: "Everyone in the Blur camp is really excited. There's plenty of material to fit in - their first five years of struggle, their Britpop heyday with all the drinking and their gradual and bitter demise."

Well
I'm old enough to remember that round about the Great Escape era they filmed everything, with the intent of putting a film out around the time. Then it all got a bit much for them and served as an unpleasant reminder. All that stuff would make a pretty interesting historical document now methinks...
PS
Nice piece on attitudes to pop in The Sunday Times today Sean.
can't wait for this!
um.. 'in cinemas'? great!
maybe EMI will release a decent dvd copy of StarShaped some time too soon.
There
is a version of it out already. It's great!
the audio
is fucking dreadful.
yeah the audio is famously totally and utterly wrecked. not in an 'its not mastered very well' way
but in an 'it is physically unlistenable' way. literally a disgrace. if it had been the fucking kraftwerk box set or lou reed or whatever but not blur ohh no.
get yrselves signed up to blurcast if you haven't already
