Vote: Black Cab Sessions up for Webby award
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater April 16th, 2009

Those wonderfully innovative people responsible for the Black Cab Sessions are up for a Webby award, and we think they're pretty deserving winners. Ergo, we're urging you all to vote for them and stick an award on their mantlepiece.

Already placed in The Independent's Top-10 websites, they've made it from a longlist of 10,000 it to the, rather shorter, shortlist of just five, in the 'music' category, up against such titans as Oasis and Pitchfork TV.

To vote for the Black Cab Sessions, simply click here, register, click on the online film/video category, click on the music category, then vote! Easy.

Over the last year or so, luminaries such as Brian Wilson, Lykke Li, and Ryan Adams have climbed into the back of a London cab and bashed out their wares.

Chris from the Black Cab Sessions says:

"We’re up against whales of the industry, the likes of Oasis and Pitchfork...and we’re, let’s face it, mere plankton. If ever there was a time to support the underdog, it’s gotta be now..."

Plankton or not, we think they're worthy of an award or two, and as pleased as we're sure Oasis' webmaster would be to receive an award, we'd prefer these guys to win.
