While this isn't very new news, the band have been having to deny the heavy rumour that the event looks like a warm-up for headlining at nearby Glastonbury the day after, although the only link seems to be that it's the same region of the country, and bands can't travel more than an hour a day, so it must be connected.
The Bristol show will be recorded to form the basis of a possible live album, possibly to also make up another DVD release, so think up some witty things to shout and you'll be famous. Accountants are planning on the CD release later this year.
Tickets are priced £17.50 and are available from now on a first come, first served basis through the bands official site, stereophonics.com.
The Stereophonics are also to headline the 80,000 capacity annual Slane Castle show just outside Dublin on August 24, and the V2002 summer festival, so Glastonbury aswell?
