The weird and often wonderful of Montreal have set the release date for Skeletal Lamping, the follow-up to last year's Hissing Fauna, Are You The Destroyer.
What to expect from the album's 15 tracks? Songs of a sexual nature, apparently...
The date for your diaries? 3rd November 2008. The label? Polyvinyl. Any sign of a single? Yup, 'Id Engager' is released as the lead single one week beforehand, on October 27th.
Speaking of dates and diaries, the band will also be embarking on a six-date tour of Europe in October, taking in the following cities and venues.
October:
15 Paris Elysee Montmartre
16 London Koko
17 Barcelona Razzmatazz
19 Berlin Lido
20 Stockholm Debaser Medis
21 Copenhagen Amager Bio
- Video Round-up: Sigur Ros, Metric, Hey Sholay, Foals + more!

Ooooooh
you just got me so excited thinking Of Montreal had announced a proper UK tour. These dates were announced months ago :(
if you're that gutted
about them not doing a full tour, why don't you go to see them in London?
weird
rough trade east had the 7" of id engager on the weekend?
although it was proper expensive so maybe an import
Because unfortunately
going to a gig in London when I live in Manchester involves a lot of money and time of work.
i can't believe the last record was released last year
it feels like i've been listening to it for a very long time.
Come to Glasgow
Pleeeeease!
I thought this too
and I nearly screamed with joy.
I'm going to cry now, I would kill to go to the London date D:
Just ordered the album
from the wonderful people at Polyvinyl. $14.00 plus $6.40 postage and packing, so that's a total of just over a tenner. Ships September 29th, the US day of release, so I should have it in time to learn all the words for the Koko gig 8-)
^^^
Agreed, although thus far they've never gone above the border...grr
