FatCat Records will come of age this year and the Brighton-based indie label of no little refine will celebrate its 18th birthday with a pair of shows at the Brighton Festival.
The first set of acts for the event were announced yesterday and now FatCat will bring several of its own charges to join the likes of Holy Fuck and Caribou.
The first night – Friday the 16th of May – will see performances from Vetiver, Hauschka and Tom Brosseau, while Vashti Bunyan handles headlining duties. Picking up the baton the following night will be Nina Nastasia, who will be ably supported by The Twilight Sad, Frightened Rabbit and Silje Nes. The event takes place at the 200-year-old Theatre Royal in partnership with the Great Escape.
Does that move you? Does it sound like the sort of thing that you like? If so, enter our competition and you and a friend stand a chance of winning entry to both nights, as well as two copies of the very well received new Frightened Rabbit album The Midnight Organ Fight and last year’s effort from Vashti Bunyan Some Things Just Stick in Your Mind.
Question: the portmanteau ‘FatCat’ rhymes, famously. Think of another rhyme, preferably one designed to raise mirth, that involves assigning an animal an attribute, either physical or mental.
Post your answer below and wait with eyes wide at your email inbox for contact from DiS, your victory heralded in the form of a note. Good luck.
