Bonanza! 764 bands compiled onto free SXSW torrent

Hundreds of tracks by bands appearing at this year’s South by Southwest have been compiled into a massive torrent that you can download for free.

The DRM-less collection can be got at here, at the website of one Greg Hewgill. SXSW organisers have decided to gather the masses of mp3s they’re sent by bands before the event for the last three years, but for whatever reason have so far declined to do so in 2008.

The mp3s are all freely available at the showcase’s website, though, so Hewgill took it upon himself to throw all the tracks together into one big file which is obviously a lot more convenient to download. And what thanks does he get? The chance to be run down on sites like this. Get a job/girlfriend/atlas, wasteman!

The torrent contains MP3s from 764 acts and weighs almost 3.5GB. SXSW runs from the 12th ‘til the 16th of March in Austin, Texas.

I need to do something other than just clicking on that, don't I?

Technology rules bamos out of stuff.

hit it with a hammer

that always work.

That's my only available option

I've clicked on it, nothing happened. I resign from life, and am now on a hammer-wielding internet rampage. I'm off to smack the fuck outta wikipedia first.

>>

i'm downloading it even though i'll probably never purposefully listen to it, and will eventually come to resent all the contained crappy indie bands constantly coming up on shuffle

^

yeh

thats exactly why im not going to do it. when the fuck am i ever going to sift through them?
when?

n00bs

just kidding no offense meant

you need what called a "bit client" there are many of these available my recommendation is "bit lord" just google it

you may also need java if you don't have it installed

once you have your bit client installed open the downloaded file and the down load will start!!

3.5gb will take a few days but give you a hella lot of music .... the one last year was one song per artist!!!

hope that helps
