Vampire Weekend have cancelled the last two dates of what was their current UK tour.
The reason? Illness, the band saying the lergy had been “following them around for a while and now it finally caught up with us.”
But, while shows at Manchester and Glasgow have been binned off, the band have added a slew of North American dates to their schedule.
“We're very sad to announce that we have to cancel this week's shows in Manchester and Glasgow due to illness. We were very psyched to come, but at least we'll be back in May,” begins a ‘blog posting on the band’s MySpace.
“We sincerely apologize to anyone who was planning on seeing us. Hope we can make it up to you in a couple of months.
“Please send positive health vibes our way.
“Best, Ezra”
Like Koenig says, Vampire Weekend will return to the UK in May – check here for details.

Rough Trade Instore
Does this mean their instore at Rough Trade East will also be cancelled?
I have no clue and really need to know
cause I'm meant to go
yeah
same here
I only got an email confirming instore list yesterday
and I haven't heard anything else yet, but you think it'd be pretty likely...
General policies about free gigs are that
they have no responsibility if the act cancel so if VW don't play there's nothing we can do on the day about it except maybe pull faces and sulk.
yes
but it would be nice if they actually told beforehand.
I just rang rough trade
The band haven't cancelled so far - they suggest you ring tomorrow to check: 0207 3927788! Peasy.
When the lineup for WOMAD is released
I hope DiS runs with the headline 'This feels so unnatural, Peter Gabriel too'.
if it wasn't cancelled before..
then i think it's a safe bet now
