Love: 'Grohl hit on me...Kurt hated him'
The world's longest running conflict plumbed new depths today, as Courtney Love took a damaging potshot at nemesis Dave Grohl.
The bile comes in the wake of lyrics penned by Grohl on Echoes Silence Patience and Grace, the misleadingly titled last Foo Fighters record.
From Let It Die: "A simple man and his blushing bride/Intravenous, intertwined... You're so considerate/Did you ever think of me?".
Obvious conclusions reached, Love hit back today in this broadside delivered via her MySpace blog:
"As for that drummer, well he's hit on me so many times. He's just a very very conflicted guy about me, which is why he continually writes songs about me to hear he 'hates' me more than 'anyone else'."
Juicy.
"Kurt loathed HIM more than anyone else (except a journalist). In his will he made a codicil that Grohl was no longer a member of Nirvana. I just ignored the guy and will continue to."
Vicious.
"Dave knows this, and he takes it out on me! Hey, it wasn't MY band and it wasn't MY idea! It's funny he 'hates' me since I don't think about him."
Dismissive.
"He's just sub-mediocre kind of [guy] who does this 'nice guy' nonsense. There isn't a word he could he say that would ruffle my feathers, honestly. ANYWAY what a fun, fabulous, special evening!"
Withering.
Grohl admitted that the lyrics were about the couple in an interview conducted last month: "There are a lot of people that I have been angry with in my life, but the one that's most noted in Courtney. So it's pretty obvious to me that those correlations are going to pop up every now and again.
"I still remain a little secretive about it all."
Keep it hush hush.

pretty standard schoolground taunts
your friend doesnt like you, you only say you hate me because you love me really and you are jealous. borrrinnngg
Dave Grohl
is a dreadful person. I wish he'd move to the moon or something.
She should just leave it alone
Grohl is only doing it to plug his crappy record.
Yeah, where is Coogan when you need him, eh?
?????
About as tight lipped as a nuns'...
ABANDON REPLY
I wish she would fuck off
she's shit
Hole are shit.
Thats shit squared.
I even like Grohl more than her
fuck off and die courtney
Lets face it kurt went to the grave hating her more than anyone, someone should remind her.
she's going to get....
... about as much sympathy as heather mills does.
grohl is our 2007 low rent mccartney.
Following the trend for misleading album titles
maybe Courtney's next album will be called "Dignified Silence"
I don't care that they hate each other
I just wish they'd stop writing shit songs about each other.
'The world's longest running conflict'
I think that the Israelis and the Palestinians might lay claim to that title.
oh god.
those are three words that should never be said in the same sentence.
"courtney" and "next album".
I'd be happy
if he just stopped making music.
Wait.
what has Dave Grohl done to make him a dreadful person?
*raised eyebrows*
Kinda surprising
this made the news everywhere, since all this has been said before (see the Howard Stern interview in 1999 or thereabouts). She just brings it up every time he writes a dull plod-rock song about her. I do think he is rather obsessive about it, but it's a rather dull conflict altogether.
I recall an interview
of her saying she hit on Grohl at a cinama because Mr Nirvana wasn't showing her much attention..
That story was written "Jerry! Jerry! Jerry!" Springer style... pleeeease stop! ...
fairdos
that made me laugh a lot..
ah fuck...
I read this as "Grohl hit me... Kurt hated him"
That would have been a much better story.
In fairness
...he wrote the lyrics. He didn't start this particular argument/exchange. So he's not guilty of plugging a record so much as he is of making one.
Although
I hate getting involved with these stupid pointless debates, I am bored. I'm the first one to admit Courtney isn't an angel or even a very nice person a lot of the time, but most of that is completely factually incorrect.
It's well documented that Kurt was not speaking to Krist and Dave and Nirvana were on the verge of splitting prior to his death. "Hate" might be a strong word, but he was certainly distanced from Dave and had fallen out with him.
Everett True introduced Kurt and Courtney according to most sources, but I don't see how that has any baring on anything either way.
Courtney probably suggested Kurt change the royalties deal, but he pushed the amendments through himself. He wasn't such a pathetic weakling that he couldn't make the final decision himself.
You can believe whatever conspiracy bollocks you want, but if I was you I'd get the hell over it and get a life.
