Reading is a vampire, it sucks the phones right out of me

Fans at Bloc Party's gig at the Reading Hexagon were jacked en masse last night, when one man stole over 30 mobile phones.
And, what's that... he was wearing a wig? Yeah, the thief was wearing a wig.
This bizarre, if admittedly daring, act of thievery was foiled however, when the venue's security were inundated with reports of stolen mobiles. The police were called and the phones recovered.
The fans were asked to remain after the show, when the police returned their phones and the band invited them all backstage for a big party. So it all came up roses then. And was the thief thanked for his part in this? I very much doubt it.

I'm still wondering how?
Surely he didn't just pick-pocket everyone?
Thats one audicous thief.
How on earth did he manage to get 30 phones from folk before being stopped? He must have been a right nut case.
and why do
Americans call them Cell Phones?
Who wants to bet they don't get to number one this week?
They are currently 2000 sales ahead of Mika but he's gonna overtake them come Sunday.
yeah
it must've been extra difficult cos everyone would be wearing skinny jeans
and why do
Americans call them cellular phones?
cause theyre
cunts, and the fact that it runs off a cell or Battery to you and me
actually
I think its because of the interlinking 'cells' that make up the coverage in the US, the place is so darned big that you have to be within one of these cells to get any reception. Its a bit different to the uk system.
Any questions?
pedant calling ...
It's because a cell-phone network consists of lots of base-stations (the ones that send out scary cancer death-rays) that transmit and receive signals from phones in the surrounding area (a 'cell'). When you are in a cell you get signal, when you move out of a cell into an area that has no base-station then you get no signal.
Cell-phones = GSM, CDMA. etc. networked phones (what we call mobile-phones).
Mobile phones = cell-phones, satellite phones, cordless house-phones I suppose, etc.
Baahahahah
Too easy, but still funny. :)
What he said.
It's only different in the way different networks choose to handle how your phone is passed from one cell to another, the cell idea is still the same. Some phones let you see the cell-ID changing as you walk around.
Fucking Reading
I lived off London Road (the one-way street bit) last year and was robbed six times in a year. Twice in one night. And no, I didn't get invited to some sexy party after it all.
He must
have had big pockets
Serves 'em right
for carrying expensively overpriced cameraphones around
Do
you think the thief was invited to the backstage party too???
Yeah
I was.
