"An avalanche of tedium": DiS first to review new Travis album

Scottish new-ravers Travis are set to release their first studio album in four years sometime this Spring.

The record, which is the first new material since 2003's 12 Memories LP, is likely to be called Open and not, as first speculated, Anything Remotely Interesting.

The record will feature a guest appearance from KT Tunstall and was produced by Nigel Godrich.

"Everything about this record makes me want to return to the womb..." shhh, shutup! This is supposed to be objective.

In other news, from Slayer to Travis in consecutive news stories. Eclectic, wut?

Textbook

well done. particularly the new-rave comment.

earlier I was about to post on the Social forum some lyrics that I couldn't place, which were:

"its easier to stare at the sun, than look at all the things that you've done, and i've been here before in a different bar, and I know its late but won't you take me home, take a look at these crows feet, just look, staring at the prettiest eyes"

I then realised they were half of 'Just The Faces Change', the world-altering Travis b-side, and half 'Prettiest Eyes' by The Beautiful South.

Help me.

I'd love to

but my head is inexplicably filled with images of Paul Heaton engaged in a big sloppy-tongued snog with Fran Healy. ARRRGH! Now they're fondling each other's cheeks!

Kill me. Kill me now.

having a

slow news day?

I really wish

Nigel Godrich would spend his time on more interesting stuff. He is quite good you know. And no, I'm not specifically referring to OK Computer.
