Our favourite new band sign to one of our favourite labels
Oh! The marriage of a wonderful label to a joyous band, let's call this news story the reception and you're all invited with free drinks and a wonderful party atmosphere.
Having sold out our DiScover night at the Barfly last Friday, the band are now ready to take things at their own pace and work alongside the splendid chaps at Wichita on recordings, songs and more.
Speaking exclusively to DiS this afternoon, singer Gareth said:
"Wichita know exactly what we're about, they're just an awesome label. The first time they came to meet us, there was no business rubbish, they were just mates. Though, the main reason we signed with them was because they put more kisses at the end of their text messages than anyone else."
Similarly, Wichita co-founder and my personal hero Mark Bowen commented:
"We are absolutely thrilled to have signed the best Cardiff band who aren't actually from Cardiff ever. We are confident that within the next year we will have all of their names commited to memory. Death to Los Campesinos."

this is such a good thing to happen
they were so brilliant at the Barfly. They'd already nailed it on record, and now they're getting the live thing too. They're such an exciting band.
brilliant
nice to see them alongside the likes of bloc party / saul williams etc etc finally . j
that's to soon.
That's far to soon.
Unless that label keep them out of sight for a good while then..another terris?
Wichita
May very well be my favourite label ever.
I doubt they'ree going to push them into making an album right away though? I mean, Bloc Party were there for over a year before silent alarm came out right?
Wowsers
This is all happening so quickly. I swear somebody posted on boards not that long ago how they knew them, and that they were playing their first gigs or something
I like them. This is good news

Wichita are sensible
intelligent and know how these things work.
you're only saying that cos of the will
well, and because it's true.
We promise
not to do an album until the summer, after uni... Thanks though, guys x

Did anyone here go to the Barfly gig?
If so, what did you think of Safetyword?
Speaking of which, the 'word have a track on Mixing It (Radio 3) tomorrow night, well worth a listen.
"That's far to [sic] soon"
