A sort of greatest hits selection of DiS' Spotify playlists. We've compiled these to show off their new play button feature, but mainly to give you one page to bookmark (and share) for hours upon hours of listening...
I like to compile playlists (you may have noticed). I find they help to distil (if you pardon the pun) what DiS currently loves, as well as offering a guide into the depths of the music that excites us, as individuals, as writers and as a wider community.
On first using it, many years ago, Spotify felt like the first service since Napster and Audiogalaxy that truly encouraged the kind of exploration of music that one upon a time would only have been possible if you were hideously rich. The ability to flick and dip and meander through music on the service is great, but the chance to sit back and listen to music that has been compiled by fellow music geeks/human beings, often beneath the umbrella of a vague theme, has always been something I've loved about the service. You could say it's The Internet at its best, you could proclaim it The New Radio and/or the Evolution of the Mixtape, or you could just tell me to shut up, and embed some playlists already!
So here goes, this is a selection of playlists I've compiled recently, and a few from over the years... many of them were compiled with the help of the DiS community on our boards, our Facebook and my Twitter @seaninsound - thank you one and all!
If you enjoy our playlists, please consider sharing this:

Great
I've been missing spotifridays. I know the ~60 people that were subscribing might not be enough to make them worth it (I imagine the people listening might have been higher than that though?), but it's a far easier format than having a mass of youtube/soundcloud links that I have to play individually (single of the week).
Plus I can straight up like/buy music through spotify and not have to worry about losing it amongst bookmarks etc. Also, new music each week that I can go through. I'm not good at trawling blogs for the bits that are worth it.
Basically, your work was appreciated, and I would love if you could do more spotify based stuff. Since you stopped spotifridays I've been visiting less.
