How do you kickstart your week? For some, it's the death of the weekend, soundtracked by silence as a three day hangover thuds in their booze-addled head. For others, Monday is all about hope and to-do list ticking; a new week met with a renewed optimism.
Last night, I asked my followers on Twitter (find me here) and 'friends' on Facebook what songs soundtrack their Monday morning. The response - as I expected - reflected the different ways people use and abuse music to wake up to a new week. Some of the requests can be found on the below 20 song playlist which, er, quickly became 40 tracks, spanning various decades, genres, moods and viewpoints.
This Spotify playlist starts with the obvious "Monday Morning Anthems", moves into blissful half-awake territory, has a mid-morning doze before the guttural screams of WAKE UP! catch anyone who might have drifted off at their desk. The second hour is an eclectic hodge-podge of requests and Monday-ishness.
In fact, there was such a fantastic response I thought it might be nice to make a playlist for each day of the week. Check back each day for our suggestions for tracks which sum up and soundtrack the day, and be ready to add your suggestions or to make and submit your own playlists.

Still, looking forward to each one of these. Obv Ruby Tuesday has to make it on for tomorrow and Big Friday for Friday...are you going to do a Saturday one, because The Saturdays would just have to go on for that.
