Iceland Airwaves 2011 - The DiS review
There is just something about Iceland. In reality it is not one single thing but a combination of them, from the people, the weather, the city of Reykjavík and, above all, all of these distilled in a few days in the middle of October that make up the annual Airwaves festival. Although 2011's edition was marked by several performances of Björk's Biophilia at the resplendelty and long-awaited Harpa Music Hall, it's quite arguably not what Airwaves is about. That said, every festival is helped by a "marquee" performance or two and Sinead O'Connor made an appearance, too.»

When it comes to noisy greatness, Future Of The Left should be near the very top of any list that's made, as they extol all of the genre's - and music in general - values. In the best possible way. Their 2009 record Travels With Myself And Another was, without any doubt, one of the finest of the year. »
