Over 200 record labels will have their releases removed from Spotify and other music streaming services like Napster, after distributor STHoldings announced it would be pulling its content from these online services. The concern is that these streaming services "cannibalise the revenues of more traditional digital services".»

Kurt Vile announces handful of European dates for 2012
Earlier this week Kurt Vile followed up the most excellent Smoke Ring For My Halo with an EP of tracks which didn't appear on that album, called So Outta Reach. It wasn't quite as good, but that was to be expected. Still Smoke Ring was and is one of the year's finest.
