Friendly Fires announce split single with Holy Ghost!
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater February 15th, 2010

St Albans' finest ever act, Friendly Fires have announced a split single with DFA's remix specialist duo Holy Ghost!, with the added (but certainly not unique) twist that each band will cover the other's song. I remember NOFX did this once, possibly with Rancid or someone similiar.

Though it began life as an idea from a drunken conversation, that thought has now very much come into existence, with Friendly Fires doing their bit on 'On Board', and Holy Ghost returning the favour for 'Hold On'. Though it seems Holy Ghost had a bit more trouble in recording theirs, with recorded tracks going completely missing, as well as losing friend and !!! member Jerry Fuchs, whose drumming appears on the very track.

‘Hold On / On Board’ will be available to purchase on both download and 12" physical version. It'll be out on March 8, through XL Recordings.

Tracklisting for the 12" will be:

A1. Friendly Fires – Hold On
A2. Friendly Fires - Hold On (Instrumental)
AA1. Holy Ghost – On Board
AA2. Holy Ghost – On Board (Instrumental)

Tracklisting for the download will be:

  1. Friendly Fires – Hold On
  2. Friendly Fires - Hold On (Instrumental)
  3. Holy Ghost – On Board
  4. Holy Ghost – On Board (Instrumental)
  5. Holy Ghost – On Board (Dub)
