Music taste:
I like: electro; horrible noise; weird shit; full-on ear bleeding onslaughts of sound; intelligence which manifests itself in the form of saying something interesting rather than in the form of incomprehensible "long words = Clever" free association pretension. And a bit of chart pop. I do not like: skate punk; hair metal; hardcore; nu-metal (if such a thing still exists); emo; punk which sounds like its makers haven't noticed the 70s are over now; anything anodyne enough to warrant no more enthralling a description than "energetic rock"; Arctic Monkeys; people who think self destruction is big and clever. A necessarily brief sampling of stuff I like: the varied works of Ian Svenonius; Big Black; Luke Haines/The Auteurs; The Chalets; Nick Cave; THB-era Manics; Laurie Anderson; CSS; Shampoo; DFA1979; PJ Harvey; Tori Amos; Sleater Kinney; Magazine; Chicks on Speed; The Bangles.

Anything else?:
In addition to DiS I write for three other publications, work two days a week, am studying for an NVQ3 and four A-Levels and am involved in internet radio. I could therefore be described as "short of time". So please try, if you can, to send me stuff far enough in advance of the release date to be sure that I have plenty of time to get it reviewed. Obviously, sometimes late postings are unavoidable - and when they are, please don't hassle me to compensate for the fact that the CD didn't arrive on my doormat till the morning of release. That's not really fair. I will do my best.
