Alec is better known as the frontman of gabbajungleindustrialrockpunks Atari Teenage Riot. However, Addicted To You has neither the white noise nor breakneck pace of earlier material. In fact, it seems that DHR noticed that Marilyn Manson was about to have a big hit on his hands and saw the opportunity to release another mid paced eighties styled electro-goth number off the back of it. Still, this is no bad thing because this is Alec Empire's most accessible work to date. Even if he himself would probably balk at the thought he'd made something so commercial. I'm sure his karma is more than restored though by b-side Killing Machine, a scratchy and noisy return to past glories complete with broken computer noises.
