Dour 2006 continues in style

DiS contingent at Dour takes in the weather; beer.

Despite the Belgian keyboard layout being one of the most difficult things to master in the world, DiS is here, safe and sound in Western Belgium.

65daysofstatic masterfully opened the British proceedings at lunch yesterday, with stellar performances from Art Brut and Maximo Park also flying the flag.

Today saw a stand-up fantastic performance from New York's Warp-signees, Battles. Afterwards, twiddler-fiddler Ian Williams told DiS, "we're right in the middle of writing the album now, we're just playing these dates and we'll be ready to record."

The fun continues for the next few days, with the DiS team excitedly awaiting performances from Animal Collective, Jimmy Edgar, High on Fire, ...Trail of Dead, Arab Strap and many, many more.

Full review coverage with photo galleries will appear on Drowned in Sound during next week, once we've got over the fact that on-site Hoegaarden costs just over one pound sterling. Au revoir!

dont really see the point in this news article

a review would have been just fine.

Party pooper.

Keep it up the DiS massive.
i love Belgium. When i was there they had vending machines that took up the side of an entire ground floor that sell things like yoghurt and nappies. Respect.

when I was in Belgium for my battlefields trip we got sold bottles of Martini for £3 from the vending machines. Great stuff.

Bottles of martini??
