Geeez Buddy, my Head! Aaron North in bother...
Aaron North, formerly of the Icarus Line and now with Nine Inch Nails, is in trouble with a security guard who says the guitarist wounded him “intentionally, violently and without a just cause,” when he allegedly launched a mic stand into a crowd in Wisconsin.
North's retort of "...but it's rock'n'roll, you douche!", has apparently not been enough to stop a Mr Mark LaVoie from launching law suits against both him and Nine Inch Nails.
In papers acquired by TMZ.com, LaVoie whinged that he was:
"...knocked unconscious, fell to the floor, and was bleeding from a large laceration on the top of his head."
Prosecutors are not sure whether he said this before or after he pumelled a teenager half deathways for the heinous crime of crowd surfing. Perhaps.

Aaron North nearly killed me
Fact. When I saw The Icarus Line at the Zodiac a couple of years back he threw his frankly massive cab off the stage after his pedal board refused to work. Said massive cab landed on my feet. It hurt like fuck but seeing as my head had been in roughly the same position that my feet were occupying, I wasn't complaining.
...
That made no sense. Bascially I took a step back from the stage as I could see what was about to unfold and therefore the amp landed on my feet rather than my head.
...
is he still doing that fucking "im so crazy leaning over the back of the amp routine". he did that every gig for roughly 3 years with IL.
Apparently so...
...it's not really an "i'm crazy' thing though, it just generates some seriously awesome feedback. Think JAMC used to do it, though I could be making that up.
...
That reminds me. I haven't consulted the Buddyhead gossip page for months. I miss the glory days of the Fred Durst feud...
hehehe
Yes it can cause some awesome feedback but he definitely overplays it I reckon. He did it at every NIN gig I saw last year (seven cos I'm a fanboy) bu I'm sure most of it was unnecessary rock posturing ;) Amusingly (is that a word?) during one song he did the leaning thing and lost balance falling into Jerome Dillon and knocking half the drumkit over mid tune. Needless to say if looks could kill, Reznor absolutely murdered him hahahahahahaha
aaron north
is a very nice, friendly guy. i turned up to interview kids near water somewhere in northampton for a friends zine, asked aaron and joey from the icky if they'd wouldn't mind being interviewed too and they chatted for ages.
they were very, very stoned though...
Aaron is the only Icarus Line-r that I never spoke to...
...I wanted to, too.
I (heart) the Icarus Line.
in all honesty
i was underwhelmed by penance soiree - but red and black attack and mono are the bitches tits.
Aha
rocknroll is an excuse for anything and everything
..
i miss the icarus line, the leering bastards were ace.
They're
still together, but I think they're just lazy.
I met Aaron and Joe after they played the Windmill, they were TOTAL bastards...therefore they're ace.
heard Soul She Said?
I only have the tracks on the Buddyhead comp, but they = GOOD.
Aaron North
Aaron is a very nice, quiet guy. This security guard is looking for a free ride in life off the back of a hard working musician. Everyone knows that things are thrown at a rock concert.
He may be nice
off stage, I dunno I only met him once back in 2002, but he has a history of this kinda thing. Pretty much every Icarus Line gig I went to ended with him smashing something or causing trouble.
I wish he was still in the icarus line.
