There are few greater bands still playing than The Cure, and next week's Virgin Trains Move looks like being the best thing to hit Manchester all year. We're inviting you lot to send us your questions for Robert Smith, which we'll pose to him with the best ones appearing here on Monday.

What was the motive behind taking on Ross Robinson for the album? (i.e was it for reasons pertaining to a desired sound/direction, or were you impressed with his previous work?)

I know it's not strictly "a" question...more like an amalgamation of questions.....but nevertheless, I would quite like to know why Ross Robinson in particular.

Hello,my name is Misha,I am professional ballet dancer-from Ukraine,it's almost Russia.Once,I dot CD of Cure-Album(Greatest Hits)!!!And at first day I heared,and I don't understood what music???(what Hell???)But after 3 days,I got it.I was in extas....it is SSSUUUPPPEEEERRRR!!!!Super MUSIC!And I have 2 questions:It is posible make hole ballet(show)????And second queston it is have you(Smith) tour at Russia,or Ukraine??????If YES-so WHEN it's gona be????Becourse many fans live there,at this beautirful countrys!!!!Thank You!!!!!!!Misha!

how have you managed to survive for so long, without:
a) getting (completely) lost in drugs and going insane
b)making really really lame records and then dissappearing. (granted some have been rubbish but the majority of the curs albums are really good)

People go on about his make-up, but what about his hair? Its a mop of tangled roots and split ends. He needs L'Oreal fast!

My question for him would probably be something like; Do you like llamas? or do you prefer Balamory or The Fimbles? But I can't be bothered to e-mail the address.

ok, I've been posting this question around a lot and it never gets answered so please pick my question. =)
question: when you write a emotional song, do your feelings ever change about the subject later on? For example, 'shiver and shake' is about lol (I believe..right?) and now you two have settled your differences (if I remember correctly), so is the song not as meaningful as it once was?

okay okay i've got no gripe with The Cure and in fact i think some of their music's pretty damn good but i guess i've got a problem with this whole 80's revival thing. it's degrading and shallow, and arguably pointless, reeking as it often does of emotional/financial desperation/contractual obligation/tax reason/whatever. it kind of takes the piss out of a band's original work by creating a novelty out of their uncalled-for reappearance, rock turns into panto, memories betrayed all for the easy nostalgia dollar. i just don't get it. i love the Smiths and the Pixies but i have no desire to go and see Morrissey or the reformed Pixies but i guess it's just me if people want it why can't they have it?etc. just to end by branding as a COMPLETE AND UTTER LOSER anyone still holding out for "chinese democracy", on a similar note. regards, etc.
