DON'T send in the clowns: Bestival cancels fancy dress event

There will be no clown-themed fancy dress event at this year's Bestival, to be held in September on the Isle of Wight, as organisers have received numerous requests for them not to hold it.
Said requests came from a group - a particularly large group by all accounts - of coulrophobics. Yup, them what's afraid of clowns. Rob da Bank, he who helps organise the three-day festival, told the BBC:
"We have had so many people with clown phobias contact us, I am worried everyone might end up hiding in the woods."
Bestival runs from the 8th 'til the 10th of September, more information at this website. See me, I was never scared of Klowns 'til I saw these scary fuckers, pictured, at ATP. Now, my Happy Meals are anything but...

is that picture
from that clown porn horror movie? that was badness.
I thought this was
going to be about silver jews.
A david berman fancy dress party might also be quite frightening..though a bit more whimsical
I got put off because of the clown theme
horrific.
No it is not!!!!
It is from Killer Klowns From Outer Space, a b-movie horror with the amazingly titled main hero of Mike Tobacco.
Sadly one of my fave films of all time :(
It's BAAAAD...
...made me laugh AND cry, though.
I may have been drunk.
Can't they just like
change the theme? I was looking forward to the fancy dress part...
I'm a bit confused
are they not the fancy dress at all, or is it just clowns that have been banned?
If I go dressed as a clown, will I get a) beaten up, b) kicked out, or c) beaten up and kicked out?
just clowns have been banned
there's still a fancy dress theme. I think that the circus theme was pretty loose anyway, it was pretty much just dress like you want. It' gonna take me ages to get a costume together no doubt.
I think I'll just
grow a beard and wear a dress, and voila! I'll become the bearded lady
