The Prodigy: All-star Mates AND a Release Date!

The Prodigy's much-delayed fourth album WILL be released on 16th August 2004.
The album, which had a working title for years of 'Always Outnumbered, Never Outgunned' (this title isn't finalised), will feature a plethora of guests, including Princess Superstar, Noel and Liam Gallagher, Twista, Kool Keith and actress-cum-rock starlet Juliette Lewis.
The band are expected to tour in the autumn. Both Keith Flint and Maxim are expected to participate, even though neither appear on the new record.

I've been waiting for a new Prodigy album since Liam Howletts excellent 'Dirtchamber Sessions', so I'm going to remain mindlessly optimistic. I can only see the non-inclusion of Keith (of 'Flint' infamy) Flint as a good thing. I'm sure Liam Gallagher’s singing can only butcher one song.

Both went solo. Fact is, Liam is the talent behind the Prodigy so I would still expect a stunning album!

I can't see any reason why this album won't be good. The Fat Of The Land was good - they changed with the times for that one, there's no reason why they won't pull out a stunner again.

dirtchamber sessions was over-indulgent uninteresting twaddle, thousands of better mix albums of that type around. just to set the record straight! (thats probably why though that was called volume 1 we wont be seeing a volume 2,3 or 4 any time soon.)

The album COULD be good. When I saw them at Reading a couple of years ago, they were dreadful because all the new stuff (now binned) had Keith shouting over it. Because Keith was now involved in that capacity (after Firestarter) I guess Liam Howlett felt he had to include him in everything... and it just wasn't working. Making an album without him (and Maxim) but keeping them in the touring band seems like the best compromise. So it COULD be good. Or it could be terrible...

I remember the dirt chamber sessions as being pretty good and a few people wanting to borrow my copy, which is probably why I've no idea what happened to it.
I also remember thinking The lightening Seeds were pretty good around the same time though.
Anyone think is should buy another copy?

As long as Liam Howlett is steering this ship it will be good. Keith and Maxim only ever MC'd over Liam's talent anyway. Their departure will only ensure that we can hear the music more clearly...

I've had this album for a couple of weeks and largely agree. Juliet Lewis gets a BIG thumbs up though.

Hotrod (the JL sung song) is the best track on a hugely disappointing album.
The Nirvana cover is cringe worthy, sounds like it could be Fatboy Slim.

I've been listening to a promo copy of this for a few weeks now and this ones a real grower. Not a patch on Jilted Generation, but then again nor was the last one. No two ways about it there's some real shite on this one (Oh well, we've put up with L7 covers before) but still enough quality to justify seeking it out - Juliette Lewis sounds awesome, let's hope she's going on tour with 'em...
