T In The Park have announced the final additions to the NME stage.
It's very good, look here, woooo:
On Saturday July 10th, you get The Shins opening the day (*delighted fangirl scream!*), where they'll be joined by The Zutons, British Sea Power, and Funeral For A Friend. How will Keane cope being sandwiched between FFaF and Wu Tang Clan? Answers on a postcard... or in the comments box below.
And on Sunday July 11th, there's now the added fun of Danko Jones, Razorlight and The Killers.

it's kinda worrying, that the best lineup at any festival other than glastonbury is one in the god-knows-where-somewhere-in-the-northish-bit-of-scotland
*whinge*
i wish the corporate festivals would use their imagination a bit more

Where exactly is Balado? Is it nearer Edinburgh or Glasgow?

Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
It's between Perth and Edinburgh, but closer to Perth, though the nearest town is Kinross.
Though you feel like you're in Glasgow all weekend cos they've all decamped to the east coast to piss me off. ;)

Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
I'm pretty sure I said in the article it was near Kinross. Most clueless foreign bands at the festival will go "HOW YOU DOIN', GLASGOOOOOOOOW?!" though.
As the person said below/above - it's nearest Perth. Fuck the central belt, yo.

TITP press release
T in the Park has exceeded all expectations and sold out in record time. Last night, Balado fans snapped up the last remaining tickets for the event which takes place on Saturday 10th and Sunday 11th July at Balado by Kinross.
With a staggering 10 weeks until the event, this represents the fastest ever sell out in the event’s 11 year history, despite an increase in capacity this year of 5,000 per day. This is sensational news for all involved as it firmly places T in the Park as a key date in the UK music calendar, and confirms that it rivals any other festival in Europe.

Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
why exactly is it worrying that a scottish festival has a better line-up??? its about time we had a lineup[ to rival glasto and reading/leeds!

Re: TITP press release
And, for once, I'm not going!
I'll be disappointed not to see The Pixies, The Strokes, and David Bowie, and, of course, the mighty Elkin when they win in the T-Break competition...
Great news that T has become such a key event. Any festival in Scotland is obviously better than any southern hippy shite. the quick sales is clearly due to the bands i mentioned above (but maybe more the pixies and bowie than the chance of elkin, i must admit)

Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
because it's a right bugger to get to if you're from anywhere south of Carlisle, and i want a whinge :(
Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
er, but it's not a 'bugger to get to' at all. shuttle busses run from perth, glasgow, edinburgh and probably more places, straight to the festival site.
Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
BRILLIANT!
Who wants to send me a tent, £50 and a skipload of crack?
Any takers...?

Re: TITP Gets Better: BSP! Shins! Killers!
but then all other festivals are in the god-knows-where-somewhere-in-the-south-of-england, surely?
except leeds, i know where that is.
still having nightmares of being caught amongst thousands of buckie wielding neds watching the black eyed peas. will have to give the main stage a wide berth on saturday afternoon methinks.
