Reports are circulating that The Darkness' Justin Hawkins has received death threats.
The spandex-clad twit, sorry, titan, apparently received a nasty letter shortly after shooting his mouth off at The Brits. Police have confirmed that they are taking matters seriously, and are investigating a 28 year-old man and woman. Ooh and, indeed, err.
Security around the all-conquering rock band has been stepped up. Thom and Johnny from Radiohead haven't been seen writing any letters of late, so DiS reckons they can be ruled out of the equation.

Apparently the letters were received just before the Brit Awards (source: BBC News) so it wasn't as a result of anything that happened that night...

Although I dislike them more for their personalities rather than the music, which is, I suppose, humourous enough. Justin really should keep his trap shut though when he's not singing.

I'll admit i thought, and still do think, Growing on Me was one of the best singles of last year.
But the rest of the album's mostly very average.
And 'I Believe In A Thing Called Love' got very annoying after like 3 listens.

oh for gods sake! stop pretending you don't like them and are so 'indier than thou' they write good fun songs, and don't take themselves seriously, a refeshing change. surely they should be applauded for that alone. and the musicianship is good, regardless of the fact they are pompy glamrock rip off merchants. i like them. and i think people who say they don't are merely trying to be 'different' or 'indie' or 'alternative' get out from your own arses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And yet again it happens. DiS is a collection of numerous people around the country, one persons views does not represent DiS as a whole! Why can't people understand this concept?

The main reason I don't like them is because they play really, really, shit music. Apart from that and the fact that Justin Rat-features is a complete cunt, they're OK I suppose.

I can see why others dont like them, but I do. They are an utterly amazing live act, and although there is nothing origional about theyre music, you cannot deny their showmanship. And Dan is a completly amazing guitarist. I alsoo find Justin strangly attractive, theres just something about a man in PVC....

im of the opinion that darkness are a good live act, but on record they are deeply average.
its their live act that made them come to the attention of most people across britain (glastonbury, then their interview with jo whiley after) and their reading and leads performances.
before that they were still simmering on the edge of becoming a massive uk act. (growing on me was released just before glastonbury last year?)

the darkness could be the shittest band ever. they have got about as much talent as Jorden (she probably plays the guitar better then they do as well) and are now in the same genre of music as 'busted' and 'pink'. fuk off u overrated freaks
