Blink182: Scott Not Dead
rubbafish by Colin Weston January 3rd, 2004
Rumours are evil...

We'd like to clear-up a rumour that was on our boards and a few other sites. Former Blink 182 drummer Scott Raynor (who left to go away to college) is not dead.

We contacted SOMA in San Diego, a venue where he helps out and they sent us the following unabridged mail:

'Hello - Scott is still with us. Speaking as a friend and associate of his I was appauled at this rumour and the complete disregard for any ramifications this would cause. We have had several emails of upset people, fans, friends. It really disturbs us as to what people will do and say. We do not find the rumor funny or entertaining.
Thank you for your concern,

Elsewhere on the web we've found this from Scott himself:

"hello this is scott raynor
i was not shot but i have a friend who was. she was a homeless youth living on the streets of san diego. 13 children die on the streets of america... everyday. i dont want this to happen to children. i volunteer for a national non-profit organization called Stand Up For Kids, we, as volunteers, go to the streets to rescue the homeless youth of america. it works. many are saved.
if you want to help, go to: standupforkids.org or volunteer at another charity for homeless youth in your area.
thank you
peace
scott"

We hope that clears things up.
