who really gives a shit about the offspring? no better than good charrlotte as far as im concerned

why is good charlotte a bad band?
cause they sold out? well if wanting to make money makes you a bad band then everyone is going in that direction, i have been listening to punk for 13 years now and i admit sometimes i dont like the direction its all going in,but good charlotte worked damn hard to get where they are and the fact is that they can please an audiance, same as offspring, you have to remember offspring is an oder band,they did there young punk stage for years, so let them make some money that all these pop punk bands are making, i say go for it, they have nothing to proove anymore

Obviously your intillect of music is quite scarce. To compare the outstanding music intensity of the Offspring with that of Good Charrlotte would be to call ones self a big dummy.

The Offspring did, does, and will always kick ass. They have always been punk and completely off the wall. If you don't like them, then you never did- because they didn't sell out. Good Charlotte is another story. But, if you want to talk about sell outs, let's roll over Metallica and Red Hot Chilli Peppers. How about Linkin Park?

It's just better songwriting. 'People' don't like good songs, in general. Usually because everyone else likes it, too. Noses, Faces, Spiting, etc.

The Offspring is the best band i ever heard. they are better than Good Charlotte because they SUCK and a lot of people agree. i have 4 offspring CDs and they all rule. i might be only 13 but if you disagree of this than SCREW YOU!!!!!!!

Yes im a fan of The Offspring, and yes, i think the album has the potential to be a good album, from the snippets i've heard its fresh, hints of old, hints of new, what more can u ask for?? rehtorical Q, the band have made it, Smash took em big time, Americana was another great album, personally, my favourites have to be ignition, ixnay on the hombre, and americana. The other subject of weather Good Charlotte suck or dont suck is complete crap, the band are doing what they love, hardcore fans say they sold out, blah blah blah, and other fans think the world of them, its the same case with the Offspring when they went to Colombia, i read they cut a lot of ties, so what, so fucking what! they are still doing what they love to do, and for gods sake, if some one gave me a record deal for my band, i would rip thier arm of for it, i wanna get out there and do it, play for fans, make records, travel, be able to keep my family safe and well looked after, and what they can do now is that, there pretty much financially OK, which means they can go into studios and have fun making records now, instead of meating deadlines and have the hierachy of the label or music buisness coming down on them from all angles. i have to agree with what Tom and Doug said about their respective posts. If you dont like the album dont buy it, you dont like the band, dont listen to them, simple as people, if your no more than a fickle lover of the music today and band hop from limp bizkit to linkin park to good charlotte then your no better than the painted up, corperate whores that are popstars, and i think, thats why some of us started listening to punk, because it talked about evrything we feel, evrything we hated and evrything we hoped for, people like the jam, the clash, the sex pistols, yeah popular mainstream but they had their views put across and people listened, i hope that once you have read this, you'll think less about hating stuff, and more about making your own stuff better for you

Good Charlotte is a bunch of posers. They're not real punk. Offspring is and kicks Good Charlotte's poserpunk ass. Offspring is so much more fast and furious while Good Charlotte is slow boring and can't play guitar for shit. If you like Offspring, then I like you. If you like Good Charlotte, go fuck yourself.

shit splinter is not what i was waiting the worse hangover ever sux and when you´re in prison is a fuckin´shit but there are other songs very great songs like da hui never gonna find me or hit that i say that splinter is punk but with shit over the face well at least better than any good charlotte album.

The Offspring would be awesome if they just stopped with the stupid humour! Dexter writes some really good lyrics but then buggers it up with a comedy song half way thru the album.

For the record: GC do suck. Anyone see them live at Reading this year? Absolute joke!

Good Charlotte: pop-punk

GC suck. Pop Punk sucks. They just make music for teenage girls who think theyre rebelling against something. Lyrics with the intellectual quality of:

"Girls don't like boys, girls like cars and money"
Punk's supposed to stand for something. GC stand for apathy and armchair rebellion.

Offspring are marginally better.

I've been waiting for splinter for over 3 years. And it rocks.

Good Charlotte are not punk, cos they are the backstreet boys with eyeliner. They try and be hard, when they aren't. For gods sake they are on girly magazines in stores- completely sold out. They dont know what punk is. I'm not saying that they suck- cos that is just my opinion, and I don't badmouth other bands cos i hate it when people badmouth Offspring.

If anyone thinks Offspring is just sold out 'fake punk' listen to their first album, their second, third, and so on. You'll see what i mean when i say they kept punk alive. They did get sold out with Americana, there is no denying it- but they are punk.
