Okkervil River like their Virgin

Austin-based indie folks Okkervil River, fronted by the lexically-loose Will Sheff, have been snapped up on this side o' the pond by Virgin/EMI. The megabucked label will re-release the band's really-quite-great album, Black Sheep Boy, like, soon.

Pretty soon, actually, as in next Monday soon, if the release date I have here is correct. The re-release is a double-disc effort, with disc two housing an appendix EP featuring 'The Next Four Years' and some videos for the singles 'For Real' and 'It Ends With A Fall'.

What's more, they tour!

May
1 Paris venue TBC
3 Leeds Cockpit
4 Nottingham The Social
5 Glasgow King Tut's
6 Belfast Cathedral Quarter Arts Festival
7 Dublin Whelan's
8 London Cargo

man

I should have waited before buying the album last week. Now I'm going to have to get the appendix separately.

On the plus side - 8th May is going to be amazing :D

They re sooooo good

I better get a ticket because if it sells out ill cry

Whine...!!

Why does no one ever come to Manchester - guess I'm going to have to traipse to Leeds...

aye...

a traipse over to leeds will do you wonders;) as for myself, it'll be cargo on the 8th. curious to know what cargo is like as a live music venue?

i also got the album last week! :(

Yes they do.

I saw Okkervil River in Manchester on their last 2 tours.

Cargo

is the nicest venue I've been to in London. It's gorgeous, the staff are friendly, the sound is good, and they serve exciting drinks.

any spare tickets going for the glas show?

Anyone got a spare ticket? Completely forgot about this gig and now its sold out...

I live in Aberdeen but I'm going to go down anyways an hope beyond hope there is a tout hanging around. I don't like buying off touts so if anyone has a spare going I could meet you outside the gig, I'll give you a decent price for it!

it would be really appreciated...
