iLiKE...Signal Failure?

Since reporting here about iLiKETRAiNS lead singer David Martin's unfortunate and painful incident with his jacket last month, DiS is pleased to report that he is back on the road with the band for an extensive tour of the UK.

This tour sees the band launch their own monthly night at the Leeds Brudenell Social Club called SiGNAL FAiLURE. Apparently happening on a Thursday near the monthly cusp, the first one is this Thursday 27 April with the iLT boys taking the stage at 9pm. The next one on 1 June is the official single launch of their lovely new single, Terra Nova, released on 29 May.

Having already undertaken four dates of the tour in the North and Scotland, the quintet's famous, massive post-rock sound and stark projected imagery has already been wowing the punters. There's another 20 or so dates to go so don't worry about missing them even if you live in France. They're going there in June with DiS' own Redjetson. Get a passport. I'd be going to Bordeaux with them, except I'll be at Download Festival being Heavy Metal and ting.

European dates

Hey all,

I just wanted to say that not all of our Euro-dates are confirmed as yet. Paris is a definite, as is the Bordeaux one... but as for the rest, we'll be posting the dates on our website (as will iLT) once they're confirmed.

Ian Jetson

is strasbourg

in a milk shop??

(dairy)

???

I'm there

on the 27th WOOT

hmm

might be worth a trip on the 10th

Lovely...

milky milky...

I'll be at the Barfly on the 5th anyhow... beards galore.

Yay me too

Will this be as exciting an event as Club Sea Power. or some other famous band-related clubnight?

I tried to go to glasgow

But they wouldent let me in. Had my RAiLCARD and all.
Still very bitter about the whole incident...

But only if Raz n' Dave perform for me.

The Southampton Show

features the following bands in support:

Birdpen - indie / electronica stuff in a similar vein to Radiohead / The Beta Band www.birdpen.com

The Strange Death of Liberal England - a brilliant 6 piece who make post rock which is strangely accessable and compelling. They won the DIS reader's tip for 2006 competition don't you know... www.tsdole.co.uk

Peter Lyons and The Fiction Theatre - A new and very promising Southampton act who mix indie and electronica. www.myspace.com/peterlyons

oh and its an Ejector Seat night, so its bound to be great!

doesn't it just

wahey

i shall be at the birmingham and wolverhampton dates, i'm a proper fan.

no jeniferever

have been informed by the promoters in hertford that jeniferever are definitely not appearing.
gutted - would have been an incredible line up.

laiterie

is a place where you produce milk not sell it.
Don't know why they gave the venue that name. Strasbourg isn't renowned for laiterie.

!

I'd get them to check that Sumo date. Supericio-thing had to cancel a gig there last night because the promoter has gone awol.

SiGNAL FAiLURE

Hello,

I'm afraid that Bikini Atoll have had to pull out of SiGNAL FAiLURE on Thursday night.

In their place we bring you the very brilliant Shut Your Eyes And You'll Burst Into Flames (http://www.myspace.com/shutyoureyesandyoullburstintoflames), and twisted folk troubadour Lupen Crook (see www.myspace.com/lupencrook).

There will still be chess and short films, and a performance by iLiKETRAiNS.

It will still be wonderful.

It is at the Brudenell Social Club in Leeds.

Doors 8pm.

£4 ( £3with a RAiLCARD)

(dairy)

maybe it's an dairy?
