Hope of The States: Tour News
_kp_ by Kate Price May 11th, 2003
NME dahlings of the moment, Hope Of The States have announced touring plans for the summer, including support slots with The Polyphonic Spree.

Hope Of The States play melancholy pretty indie stuff with a few smatterings of post-rock. Sounds a bit like Six By Seven having a play-out competition with Elbow, or something. Anyway, point is, they're good. And they've got lots of gigs lined up over the next few months, which you might want to go to. Here are the details!

May

23rd - Stoke, Sugarmill (w/ Komakino)
24th - Sheffield, Leadmill (w/ The Sleepy Jackson + The Hidden Cameras)
25th - Manchester, Roundhouse
27th - Birmingham, Sanctuary
28th - Leicester, Sumo
29th - Hastings, Brass Monkey
31st - Cardiff, Barfly

June

1st - Southampton, Joiners
2nd - Colchester Soundhaus
3rd - London ICA
29th - Glastonbury Festival, New Bands Tent.

On tour with The Polyphonic Spree:

30th - Manchester, Academy

July

1st - Birmingham, Academy
2nd - Nottingham, Rock City
3rd - Cambridge, Corn Exchange
4th - London, Brixton Academy
