3CR: tour and single details
misterben by Mr Ben March 5th, 2003
3 Colours Red come blasting back into the UK music scene with a tour and new single.

UK outfit 3CR have signed a singles deal with Mighty Atom, and will release Repeat To Fade, backed by 'Vitriol' and 'Shopping Trolley Children'. on May 19.

The band are also touring the UK in April, supported by the Donots and Lucky 7. Check here for up-to-date listings.

Singer/bassist Pete and guitarist Chris have provided some additional information on their new single - Chris tells us that "'Repeat To Fade' was the first song finished after reforming and nothing like anything else we've done before", while Pete summarises the song's message as "Basically ... Don't shut up."

All of this seems very pertinent in the light of the band's current situation - although they reformed to play some live dates last year, this will be their first single since 1999's 'This Is My Time', and their first release on Mighty Atom, a label which also hosts such promising acts as Liberty 37 and Funeral For A Friend.

At present, relations between band and label seem extremely positive with Pete singing the label's praises, saying that "Mighty Atom have a buzz, a couple of guys from Swansea who want to put the C.D out regardless of whether or not you have the word 'The' prefixing your band name. They're cool...", and this enthusiasm is reciprocated by the label: "They are one of our all time favourite bands, and without doubt one of the best UK bands in the last 10 years."
