Frankly,
giving Oasis a best band nomination makes any Worst Band category redundant.
Anyway, out with the hate, in with the LOVE.
a few have slipped through the net...
On that list I count (and I could be wrong cos I don't know the lineup of every band on there):
- five women (two of whom are radio DJs) and a
- two black men.
careful NME! remember your demographic!
They
should make a special award for the person who deserves to be cut up into small pieces and fed to the worlds ugliest camels and there should only be one nominee: Ricky Wilson
Best/Worst Dressed
Is this the Smash Hits Poll Winners party?
Fun fact: I went to the Smash Hits Poll Winners party when I was little.
This is fantastic
The first 5 categories are really good (apart from the foo fighters..). It just shows what a great time for music this is.
how can they nominate
their own website for an award? and fair enough, it's all pretty standard NME fare, but not a single nod to Arcade Fire? ho hum. Any way it could be sabotaged, d'ya think?
Best Website:
wearescientists.com
WTF?
erm...
best international band - the arcade fire
I take it back
S'not bad at all.
I like it Mike...
How you've put al those bands with 'fuck' in the title at the top of this article.
Hero of the year
Pete Doherthy - To who? Drug dealers? The Sun?
Excuses
It looks like they just wanted any chance to mention Pete Doherty. Best band, worst band, best album, worst album, best dressed, worst dressed, hero of the year, villain of the year, best track. And can anyone tell me why they bother to have a 'best website' award if they're going to nominate themselves? Goddamn back-slapping Tories, the lot of them.
most blind user
keveddy
oops.
the readers
nominate surely?
two things
1) nominating pete guarantees he'll win something, and so, appear on the cover = muchos more sales
2) pete will be too fucked to actually know what he's being presented with, which could be quite comedy.
at least
peep show got a nomination.
which is more than can be said for the 'british comedy awards', where it was shockingly absent.
also
is 'the importance of being idle' the video with rhys ifans in? yum.
anyway...
BOLLOCKS
to all things NME
what the fuck is gonzo
I've never even heard of it (the nominated tv show, i mean)
best dressed
hahahahahahah
fucksake
Consider yourself...
lucky
*Kirei...
...
Best video
Arctic Monkeys? Wasn't that just them pretending to play their instruments on a digital camera?
at least this proves that its not fixed
if the nme secretly decided it Mystery Jets would be up for at least one. thus its acceptable that they have their own site up there.
NME
I cant be assed with the NME anymore
one minute they hate Oasis's new album, the next they're up for best band
One issue loves and adores babyshambles, the next hates them to death
will someone at NME please make up their mind?
'Mon the biffy?up the clyro?
NO. where are one of the hardest working, longest touring, most energetic bands in the UK? missing in action. and no mars volta either.....
What a
pile of shite. This makes me fucking sick to the bone. whay did i read this? Curiosity? Its enough to drive you to mass murder. I bet Ted Bundy used to read NME.
Cunts
I can think of a million reasons why the NME isn't a serious music magazine, but nominating Chris Moyles as one of the best 'DJ''s of the year is nothing short of vomit-inducing.
Yawn...
you lot have the same disscussion every year (fuck the NME etc.)
You slag the paper for its nominations but none of you have got it through your heads that the readers vote for the nominations, thats why some of them are crap.
YOU FUCKING WHAT??!!
COLDPLAY WORST BAND, AY!! i canot belive this, coldplay one if the best bands in the world, if not the best nominated for this, u twats
U2 fan
(and 15 therefore not old enough to remember the joshua tree)
Ignore.
NME
Some of the NME awards are really pointless, such as best website, best dressed, worst dressed etc.
They should concentrate on the music a bit more, the things that really matter.
Although I must say that Ricky Wilson did deserve the Best Dressed award. His style is great, I love his blazers.
