Karen, oh, thanks for these album and single details!

Yeah Yeah Yeahs have unveiled the title of their new album, as well as the lead single from said release. The LP, entitled Show Your Bones is released through their Dress Up Records imprint on March 27th. A single preceeds it a week earlier, which goes by the moniker of 'Gold Lion'.

Singer-type Karen O told someone or other that, "Show Your Bones is what happens when you put your finger in a light socket, we'd like to thank 9 year old antigenius wonder-kid Drake Barrett for the insight and the life saver, titles are hard to come by the older you get. Maybe there is some of that electric current flowing through the tracks of our album illuminating us from the inside out for you to laugh at and cry to or fry to, or not." Ace!

i think

they'll do better than a lot of bands from that era who produced second albums that were basically photocopies of the first as they seem to have taken their time with this in an effort to produce something fresh. all their press seems to have them talking about how different it is, rather than the "it's like a familiar friend who you've not seen in a while and who got a nosejob" talk a lot of bands give about their second albums.

to enjoy tha Yeah yeah yeahs since Karen O's rubbish behaviour on that Kill Yr Idols documentary... Only Angus from Liars and Mr Hutz from Gogol Bordello seemed vaguely intelligent out of the modern people...

Or, as Mr Hutz put it himself, "she is sooooo stupit, that girl..."

byop are a bit poo really... i can't really say style over substance cuz thats a yyy argument (one i dont agree with)

i'm really looking fwd to it, shaking my ass down my local disco to it..

and i don't care how stupid karen o is... anyone that can confuse a totp crowd and make the not clap is wikkked in my book!

BYOP like YYYs?

It's unfair to compare BYOP with the yeah yeah yeahs, firstly BYOP are far punkier and harsher than YYY, who have some amazing and beautiful slower songs like Y Control, Modern Romance, Maps etc. I like both bands, but BYOP are in no way an new version of the YYY just because they have a crazy female singer. There is definitely still a place for the YYYs so they can start to rightfully dominate the world.
