The BBC stop queer bashing
oappleby by Ollie Appleby August 30th, 2002
The BBC has apologised for posting 'allegedly' homophobic and violent lyrics on the Radio 1 website.

The song lyrics were posted to coincide with the BBC2 series The History Of Reggae and included a track called 'Log On' by Elephant Man.

Gay rights campaigners say songs that condone violence and murder against homosexuals featured on the website including 'Bun Di Chi Chi' which patois speakers translated to 'Burn The Queer', "widely interpreted" as describing stamping on and setting fire to a gay man.

A BBC spokesperson said that once they became aware of the nature of some of the lyrics, they were removed from the site and apologised for the error.

but hey, after getting rid of the Evening Session they've got to fill up the space somewhere haven't they? Remember, if you're living in a house that has a tv licence then this is your fault, you're paid for it haven't you?
