Video premiere: EMA reveals 'Marked' ahead of tour with Zola Jesus
sean by Sean Adams September 20th, 2011

EMA. New Video. Premiere. Here. Now.

This video for a-slightly-sweeter-than-the-album single edit of 'Marked' was directed, shot and produced by Leif Shackelford and Erika M. Anderson (aka EMA, pictured ripping the guts out of a cassette above). Watch it:

“I wish that every time he touched me / Left a mark.”

'Marked' howls from a numb place and time, which - like most of her DiSser-adored LP Past Life Martyred Saints - has a blunt gwunge edge that pummels you repeatedly into a sweaty, bruised and elated state of submission.

'Marked' will be out as a 7” - backed with a new track entitled ‘Angelo’ featuring Oakland rapper Mz'Gorjis of Platnum Platnum - on November 21st to coincide with these UK dates supporting Zola Jesus.

November 2011
Wed 23 Heaven, London
Thurs 24 Academy 3, Manchester
Fri 25 Kazimer, Liverpool

p.s. if you missed it, here's her incredible cover of Nirvana's 'Endless Nameless'
