We got very excited on Thursday, because Sky Larkin (yeah, another Leeds band...) announced details of their forthcoming second record, the follow-up to last year's debut, The Golden Spike. We couldn't and didn't post the news then because we were at The Great Escape having a grand old time. Funnily enough so were Doug, Nestor and Katie who we saw in a very small and sweaty room. Playing music. More on that in due course.
Their new record will be called Kaleide (like a Kaleidoscope and Collide) and is released through Wichita this summer, hopefully sooner rather than later. It was recorded in Seattle along with John Goodmanson - who did their first effort, as well as Los Campesinos!'s most recent Romance Is Boring.
It contains 12 tracks and you can get the eponymous one by clicking here and entering your e-mail and date of birth. There's also a demo of another song, 'Spooktacular', in the package and a previously available but still super download of an acoustic version of 'Matador'.
