Jon McClure of Reverend And The Makers fame has leaked an anti British National Party tune from their new album through the ever-popular medium of Twitter.
The track, entitled 'Manifesto/People Shapers', is taken from the upcoming A French Kiss In The Chaos. It's available from YouSendIt here, just two simple clicks away.
The BNP won two seats in the European Parliamentary elections, one in Yorkshire and one in the North Western region. McClure is famously a man of Sheffield and a man of Yorkshire.
Before posting the link to the five-and-a-half minute song late last night he wrote/posted/tweeted/twot:
next tweet is a song i wrote when the bnp threatend [sic] me last year and started givin my mum dodgy phone calls and stuff. x
Before saying:
sorry wall of sound but it had to be done. these nazi's [sic] dont represent yorkshire and the time to hear this is now not in a month x
Then, finally with the link to the song, a simple:

So, as well as fighting extremism, it gives you a chance to listen to new Reverend And The Makers material.

Fairplay to the guy
Even if you don't like his music, he devotes a lot of his time fighting for good causes. Which I don't think is something that should have the piss taken out of it, or it will just encourages others in a similar position to make a difference to keep quiet.
How the gibbering fuck is it a "leak" if the band have authorised it and announced they're giving it away?

It's available before its official release date seemingly without authorisation of the record company. Admittedly it's a self-leak, but still a leak.

You cant fault his effort for stuff like this whatever people think of the music. And for people to knock it because of their indie-snob attitude is a bit shit.
The song itself will most probably be quite cringeworthy
but if it makes some John Mclure fan (not that I'm certain that any of these actually exist) aware of what shits the BNP are, then it can only be a good thing. I think the more people that speak out who are in a position where people will listen, the more aware people will be there'll be less apathetic "the government are all stealing my money, I'm not voting" type attitudes.

Complaining about a free anti racism song. I mean, the guy is a bit of dick, and the song will quite likely be rubbish, but it's kind of petty to knock the him for what he's doing because you don't like him.

I did
It's not very good. Lyrics are crap, musically it seemed like it had a few interesting ideas, but they never really went anywhere. I'm still not knocking the sentiment though.
