Arctic Monkeys set release date for third LP

Sheffield Superstars Arctic Monkeys have made good on their promise to release their new album before the Leeds and Reading festivals.

They've done it with three days to spare, with the as-yet-untitled album being released on Monday August 24, the week of the dual festivals.

The record was produced by Queens Of The Stoneage, Kyuss and Desert Sessions member Josh Homme and the award-winning James Ford, who has worked with Klaxons, Test Icicles and most recently with Peaches for I Feel Cream. Expect some heavy riffage then?

Here is the tracklisting for the 10-track album:

  1. 'My Propeller'
  2. 'Crying Lightning'
  3. 'Dangerous Animals'
  4. 'Secret Door'
  5. 'Potion Approaching'
  6. 'Fire And The Thud'
  7. 'Cornerstone'
  8. 'Dance Little Liar'
  9. 'Pretty Visitors'
  10. 'The Jeweller’s Hands'

The guys are also on tour throughout the summer, as bands do naturally, and play these dates at these places:

June 2 - Opener Festival, Gydnia, Poland
July 4 - Rock For People, Hradec Kralove, Czech Republic
July 5 - Vienna Arena, Austria
July 7 - Prokurative, Split, Croatia
July 9 - Exit Festival, Serbia
August 1 - All Points West, New Jersey, USA
August 2 - Osheaga Festival, Montreal, Canada
August 7-9 - Lollapalooza, Chicago, USA (TBC)
August 13 - Oya Festival, Oslo, Norway
August 14 - Way Out West, Gothenburg, Sweden
August 15 - Beat Day Festival, Copenhagen, Denmark
August 21 - Highfield Festival, Erfurt, Germany
August 22 - Pukkelpop Festival, Hasselt, Belgium
August 23 - Lowlands Festival, Holland
August 28 - Leeds Festival
August 29 - Reading Festival

They've also just announced a new date, in November, with tickets available here from tomorrow.

November 6 - Zenith, Paris, France

Just a small image change then

looking forward to hearing this though. For a band that received so much hype they've done a good job of producing 2 great albums so far and in my opinion improving with the second.

cookie's let himself go a bit hasn't he?

can't even tell which one he is.

1st album was good and exciting stuff.
2nd was overrated beyond belief.
3rd ? Kings of Leon meets generic 'thrashola grunge' by upstarts too young to remember any of the decent bands from the era in question.

Good luck to them mind, (if they continue to bank role domino for the next 20yrs that's no bad thing...)

come on

this is going to be amuuhhhhzing.

next...

hippie hair, black sabbath t-shirts...this is the opposite of a good thing.
