Web exclusive: Rawside of Metric documentary

DrownedinSound is excited to present the online première of this fascinating behind-the-scenes peak into the world of Metric.

Entitled The Rawside of... Metric, this documentary (which will run in five separate parts each day this week on DiS) uncovers the trials and tribulations of Metric recording their forthcoming album Fantasies.

The documentary was originally aired on US/Canadian network IFC in December 2008 as part of The Rawside of... series, which also featured the likes of Brendan Canning of Broken Social Scene, Gracer and Born Ruffians.

The video comes with the following blurb from the co-directors Matthew Hannam & Bruce McDonald:

Since 1998 Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw have been the life force behind this multi-platinum rock phenomenon. We are brought into the recording studio as the band finishes work on Metric's forthcoming studio album. Travelling between New York and Toronto Jimmy and Emily rush to perfect every nuance of each track. As with all bands at the pinnacle of success they struggle to top even themselves.
